Job summary
Worcestershire Community Dental Service is seeking to recruit additional Local Dental Practitioners to join our experienced team, delivering high quality care within our Out-of-Hours Urgent Care Dental Service, managed by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health & Care NHS Trust.
This service provides emergency and urgent dental care for patients who have been triaged by our trained Dental Care Professionals and NHS 111.
Sessions are delivered at our Moor Street Clinic in Worcester and our Redditch clinic, operating on weekends and bank holidays.
- Worcester shifts: 09:0013:00 (0.53 WTE)
- Redditch shifts: 09:0014:00 (0.67 WTE)
We work closely with NHS England, who commission this service, as well as the Local Professional Network. A locally agreed sessional rate is in place, with enhanced payments for Christmas bank holidays.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced dentists who wish to contribute to the provision of urgent dental care for the local community, while further developing and enhancing their skills in emergency dentistry.
Main duties of the job
The
Primary Care Dental Officer will provide emergency and urgent dental care for
patients identified through the triage process. On rare occasions, duties may
extend slightly beyond normal operating hours if a late arriving emergency
patient requires care, or if treatment already in progress must be completed to
ensure patient safety. These situations are exceptional and expected to be
infrequent.
You
will work as part of a small, supportive clinical team in a modern surgery at
either Moor Street Clinic in Worcester, or Orchard Place in Redditch, where
patients are triaged in advance by experienced Receptionist/Dental Nurses and
booked directly into appointment slots.
At
