CAMHS Eating Disorder - Specialist Systemic Family Psychotherapist

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a very busy Herefordshire & Worcestershire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service requiring flexibility, problem solving skills and a desire to make a difference. This is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Consultant Child Psychiatrists, RMNs, Psychologists and Family Therapists. You will be part of the eating disorder service, inputting into clinical pathways and supporting Children and Young People experiencing an eating disorder whilst providing specialist advice and consultation on systemic formulations and practice to CAMHS colleagues. The post holder will be a qualified systemic Family therapist, providing specialist systemic psychotherapy services to children, young people and their families and consultation to the professional network bringing a systemic perspective to all aspects of the work. You will have a proven ability to liaise and work in collaboration with other relevant agencies according to the needs of the young person.

This is full time post, but we would consider applicants looking for part time (minimum of 30 hours per week).

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the role will include.

Identify, analyse, and interpret complex clinical facts.

Use well developed interpersonal and communication skills tocommunicate highly sensitive information and potentiallydistressing decisions to clients and colleagues in contexts ofchallenging behaviour.

Work autonomously and as a member of the multidisciplinaryteam providing generic and specialist systemic psychotherapyassessments, therapy, care planning and interventions.

Provide specialist advice and consultation on systemicformulations and practice to CAMHS colleagues and in familytherapy teamwork with own workplace.

Represent Family Therapy at strategic level meetings within andacross agencies on issues relating to family therapy.

Take responsibility for initiating and coordinating the workprogramme for the Family Therapy Clinic within own workplace.

Contribute to clinical teams, both multidisciplinary andundiscipline through the development of appropriate andcollaborative care plans.
