An exciting
opportunity has arisen for a skilled, motivated, and passionate Occupational
Therapist to join the team at the Elgar Unit.
The role is rewarding
and challenging, with a focus on working within our adult mental health
inpatient services.
We care for
working age adults with mental health illnesses who may be detained under the
Mental Health Act.
You will work as part of a dedicated in-patient therapies team and within
the wider multi-disciplinary team, under the supervision of the Lead Allied
Health Professional. You will manage a
caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence based/client centred
principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions; these
interventions will be underpinned by the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO).
The successful
candidate will have a can-do attitude, energy and enthusiasm with an
understanding of how to work alongside individuals to promote recovery, health
and wellbeing.
The successful
candidate will join an established therapies team within the Elgar Unit,
working full time (37.5 hours per week), with the option to work
weekends/evenings. Flexibility considered - minimum of 30
hours per week.
Candidates
should be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with people
with mental health conditions, have excellent communication skills and an
ability to build rapport with vulnerable patients.
Regular
supervision, reflective practice and training opportunities will be actively
encouraged.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:

Manage a caseload of clients with complex

by the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO). Commission services where required.
Provide leadership for junior staff, through
supervision and appraisal.
Participate in the planning, development and
evaluation of Occupational Therapy Services, within a designated area/team,
holding responsibility for defined projects.
Provide outcomes for the service and service
users by using agreed tools/assessments underpinned by MOHO.
Contribute to the maintenance and development
of the Trust Occupational Therapy Service.
Regularly supervise Occupational Therapy
students on practice placement
