Job summary

This post is only open to current employees of the Trust.

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated clinician to join our dynamic outpatient MSK service as a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP). This developmental post provides a clear, supported pathway into advanced practice and includes a fully funded ACP Masters programme, which is a mandatory requirement of the role.

You will commence at Band 7, with progression to Band 8a on successful completion of the ACP MSc and demonstration of the required competencies across the four pillars of advanced practice.

As part of our forwardthinking MSK team, you will play a central role in delivering expert patientcentred care, improving access to advanced pathways, and shaping innovative models of community rehabilitation. You will work autonomously with complex MSK presentations, provide advanced clinical input across our localities, and act as a role model for highquality practice.

We are seeking a selfmotivated, reflective, and resilient clinician with strong MSK experience, a passion for service development, and the ambition to progress into an Advanced Clinical Practitioner role. Commitment to completing the ACP Masters programme is essential, as this forms a core condition of the post.

This is a unique chance to grow your career within a supportive, innovative service committed to developing advanced practice and bringing highquality MSK treatment closer to home

Main duties of the job

Manage a clinical caseload of complex MSK patients independently.

Undertake advanced assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Support waiting list reduction through timely and efficient patient management.

Participate in triage, advanced assessment clinics, and community rehabilitation pathways.

Complete and pass the ACP Masters programme within agreed timeframes.

Attend supervision, tutorials, and competency reviews as part of the ACP pathway.

Lead or contribute to projects working across the four pillars of advanced practice

Provide daytoday supervision and teaching to clinicians across the MSK and wider therapy service

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to governance requirements.

Participate in MDT meetings, service planning, and pathway development.

Uphold professional standards and contribute to a positive team culture.

Alongside your clinical caseload, you will be expected to work aligned to the four advanced pillars of practice to shape, refine and improve our service, provide support and development for MSK conditions across the system and contribute to national research objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to develop into a future clinical leader while working at the forefront of advanced MSK practice.

Countywide, with clinics operating across multiple sites. The base location will be agreed with the successful candidate.
