Assistant Psychologist - CAMHS Community Eating Disorders

Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join CAMHS Herefordshire/Worcestershire Community Eating Disorder NEW Intensive Support at Home team as a band 4 Assistant Psychologist. In this role, you will be part of an integrated team who are passionate about helping young people with eating difficulties. We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist, with a specialist interest in eating disorders. You will support the team to provide time-limited intensive person-centred intervention within the young persons home environment. You will be expected to work across both counties, supporting young people to receive timely and effective care in the least restrictive environment, avoiding unnecessary admission to hospital or Tier 4 units, supporting timely discharge from acute paediatric wards and support keyworkers to offer intensive support as an alternative to continued inpatient treatment. Additional training will be provided relating to eating disorders, where required.

These are full time posts but part time hours would be considered.

Main duties of the job

Be an integral member of the CAMHS Eating Disorder Service (CEDS) under the direction of the Leadership team, Mental Health Practitioners and Clinical Supervisors.

Provide support and care for young people in their own home or clinics:

Complete home-based therapeutic interventions, including meal support, based on the care planformulated by Mental Health Practitioners

Complete outcome measures and gather evidence regarding the effectiveness of these interventions.

Complete clinical entries using the Trust clinical records system.

Receive support, guidance from the wider team and clinical supervision on a regular basis.

Deliver high standard clinical care under the supervision and direction of senior staff for young people in the community. Ensure that care provided maintains the individuals privacy and dignity, values diversity and respects cultural and individual rights and choices

Support with Physical Health clinics as required

Attend weekly MDT and formulation sessions
