An
exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a permanent cover as a Band
8a Operational Manager for 30 hours per week within our Paediatric Therapies teams.
The
Paediatric Therapies team includes occupational therapy, physiotherapy and
specialist play service working jointly with speech and language therapy,
community paediatricians, specialist nursing, child development centre teams,
equipment services, orthotics and early years services to offer community OT
and physiotherapy intervention across Worcestershire.
This is a
dynamic and innovative team with a highly child centred approach to their
intervention working in partnership with families and young people to offer
high quality care. The service is undergoing significant change, moving to a
universal targeted and specialist offer embedded in neighbourhoods and working
as part of an MDT. This is an exciting time of potential change and development
for the service; strong leadership and experience of change management is required
to make this process smooth. There is a
strong emphasis on co-production of services; experience of co-production and
quality improvement techniques is desirable.
The successful candidate will need to have extensive experience of using
data to baseline and evidence the impact of change.
Main duties of the job
You will provide leadership for the
paediatric therapies team. Line managing
the team leaders and clinical leads; offering operational and managerial
oversight to the therapy teams; leading the team through a period of change and
transformation for the fixed term period. Maintaining best practice and quality
for the children and young people accessing the services, supporting staff and
working towards staff wellbeing. Maintaining policies and procedures for the
teams within trust standards. Acting as an advocate for the service in
multidisciplinary forum.
You will
ensure all Trust initiatives are interpreted and applied to the service and
clinical quality of the offer is maintained through a robust review and audit
process. Engaging with transformation and change projects, you will keep the
needs of the client group central to all decision making. You will contribute
to senior management meetings as required and lead service level meetings and
be responsible for the governance of the service and the quality of practice,
such as clinical record keeping and safeguarding. You will hold an overview of
the recruitment and workforce development for the service. You will collaborate
closely with the clinical services manager, commissioners and transformation
partners to ensure the integrity and quality of the offer to children and young
people is maintained.
