Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust

Practice Facilitator - Apprenticeships

The closing date is 25 February 2026

Job summary

This is a part time post working 30 hours per week. However, we would consider less hours for the successful candidate but would have to be a minimum of 22.5 hours over 3 days.

Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health & Care NHS Trust are seeking to appoint a committed and organised individual to join our ambitious Apprenticeship Team to support clinical apprentices in the practice environment. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting staff to realise their potential and further their career via apprenticeships. This challenging and dynamic role combines collaborative working with key external stakeholders in addition to our local education teams and wider Trust colleagues. The role will be instrumental in ensuring apprentices are confident, competent and prepared for practice with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to deliver high quality, compassionate care. This role is based in the Clinical Workforce, Training and Education Team. Hybrid working is supported, though post holders should be prepared to travel to Trust sites and relevant Training Provider sites across the region when required.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for providing tailored support for clinical apprentices across a range of programmes. This will include support, education and advice for apprentice managers, Practice Assessors / educators, coordination of practice placements and collaboration with the Practice Facilitator Team in the ongoing quality, monitoring and enhancement of clinical learning environments. You will represent the Apprenticeship Team at internal and external meetings as required. The successful candidate should demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to adapt in a progressive educational landscape and exhibit an understanding of apprenticeships and how these differ from traditional learning routes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who holds either NMC / HCPC Registration to combine clinical expertise, educational passion and operational insight to support and develop our future workforce.
