This is a part
time post working 30 hours per week,working Monday to Friday during standard business hours.
Thanks to additional funding, our Crisis Home
Treatment Team is expanding.
We are delighted to offer a new opportunity
for a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our
dynamic, multidisciplinary team. This role will play a vital part in supporting
individuals in crisis, helping them regain independence, and promoting recovery
in the community.
The Crisis and Home treatment Team (CAHTT) is evolving.
We currently provide crisis assessment and home treatment to patients
experiencing acute mental health difficulties, ensuring care is delivered in
the least restrictive environment. We also work closely with inpatient services
to facilitate early, planned discharge.
As an Occupational Therapist within CAHTT, you
will carry out assessments and deliver home treatment in a variety of settings,
including patients homes in the community and treatment rooms at the Stonebow
Unit.

Main duties of the job
It's a
little unpredictable, as you can be called at any time to a crisis situation,
we discuss referrals each morning and three times weekly we review our caseload
with our consultant psychiatrist.
We
complete comprehensive risk assessments for every patient, these can be
completed independently although sometimes we discuss more complex patients as
a Multi-disciplinary team.
We
liaise with families and carers, GPs, community mental health teams, social
care teams, community nurses, physiotherapists and voluntary organisations, and
anyone who is necessary to maximise recovery.

Essential
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role.
Qualifications

- Diploma / degree in OT
- Practice Placement qualification within one year of appointment
- Postgraduate training relevant to mental health
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
Experience

- Documented evidence of continuing professional development
- Significant post registration experience including experience within mental health
- Minimum 1 year within / related specialty
- Extensive clinical experience including individual and group work
