Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Podiatry Arrow team for an experienced podiatrist.
The role is a permanent position. It will involve work in both health centres and out in the community in patients homes, care homes and local hospitals. Podiatry Arrow covers the Redditch, Droitwich ,Evesham and Pershore areas of Worcestershire. Emphasis is on the high-risk foot and a special interest in wound care would be beneficial.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, committed to providing high quality patient care with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Enthusiastic, highly motivated and a strong work ethic is most desirable.
You will be confident in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the lower limb, with a sound knowledge of disease processes relating to the foot and lower limb of all types of patient groups.
The ability to network, liaise and build relationships with other health care professionals would be highly advantageous.
Some knowledge of MSK and competence with nail surgery is also a requirement for the role.
The successful candidate will take part in nail surgery on a rota basis and there are opportunities for shadowing and working with the Multi -Disciplinary Foot Team and the MSK specialist team to further advance skills and knowledge base.
You will be an active participant in clinical supervision, supporting , and being supported by the team .
Flexible/part time role may be considered but not less than 18.75 hours.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will assess diagnose and treat high risk patients both in clinic and domiciliary settings. Liaise with GPs and other health care professionals.
Triage referrals appropriately and efficiently . Provide education to patients and empower them to manage their own condition. Mentor students and apprentices as required.
Perform nail surgery and be part of the rota within the department. Provide offloading and orthotic devices where appropriate.
Put patient care at the heart of the work you do to improve health care outcomes , deliver the highest standards of care to patients who meet our access criteria .
