Medical Directorate Support Assistant

We require an enthusiastic, motivated individual with excellent administrative skills to join our busy Medical Directorate Support Team. This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week.

MDST provides our medical and dental workforce with support around HR functions and professional standards. A strong administrative background is essential as is a high level of organisational and time management skills; together with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.

Previous experience in HR, recruitment and selection or dealing with medical staffing issues would be an advantage. The role is predominantly office based at Kings Court 2, Worcester.

Interviews are scheduled for 28th January 2026.

Main duties of the job

This is a multi-faceted role where you will move between dealing with queries from medical managers on a variety of topics such as appraisals, job planning, recruitment, medical locums or processing study leave requests. You will also support medical and dental staffing recruitment processes and be responsible for maintaining accurate, contemporaneous records in accordance with Trust policy. You will also assist with the Resident Doctors who are on placement with the trust and support the onboarding process, induction, on call rota and the teaching program. You will also participate in and contribute to ongoing work to improve the quality of information provided by the team to support the management decision making process regarding workforce matters.

Other duties include:

Dealing with queries, both face-to-face and via the telephone or email and to deal with them as appropriate in timely manner e.g. Manager queries regarding appraisal or return to work interview rates.

Facilitate in the development and delivery of teaching programmes and educational activities for all dental and medical staff of all grades within the Trust.

Deployment of management and organisational skills to ensure that the Trusts Responsible Officer (Medical Director) has the required information to make appropriate medical revalidation recommendations.

Input/retrieve data, prepare reports and analyse data on a daily basis from local, SARD and on-line data sources.
