Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust

CAMHS Senior Practitioner

The closing date is 04 January 2026

Job summary

This is a part time post working 30 hours per week.

Do you have a core registration as a nurse, social worker, registered therapist, OT or other allied health professional? Are you passionate about providing quality mental health services for children and young people, with interventions tailored to need?

We are seeking a Senior Practitioner to join Core CAMHS. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our CAMHS partnership and DBT pathways.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates interested in contributing to our DBT pathway offering assessment, consultation and therapeutic intervention to children and young people presenting with mental health difficulties. You will work closely with our Core and DBT teams with clinical supervision and training opportunities in both areas of the service provision.

Main duties of the job

The children, young people and families accessing our service require a range of specialist interventions to support them within their journey of recovery.

A typical week will involve working autonomously and as part of a wider team. With MDT support, you will assess, formulate, deliver and review mental health interventions. You will effectively interface with stakeholders of the service, and you will work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team. With regular supervision, you will manage a caseload and work in partnership with children, young people and families within your care, from referral through to discharge. You will conduct regular mental health assessments and demonstrate skills in risk management and safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults. Taking a child-centred approach, you will utilise your skills to formulate, deliver and review the efficacy of tailored therapeutic interventions within your sphere of practice.
