An opportunity has arisen for a band 6 nurse to join the team working 34 hours/week.
We are looking for a nurse wanting to work with Parkinsons patients, who is motivated and passionate about developing their knowledge, skills to provide support for this patient group.
The role with involve working closely with our acute hospital services and the other Parkinsons nurses. We run clinics across several sites and see patients at home. The role will sit within the supportive structure of the Integrated Neurology service of specialist nurses and therapists as well as close links with the acute trust.
Training will be given to develop your knowledge and understanding of Parkinsons.

Main duties of the job
You will be working as part of the Integrated Neurology team providing specialist nursing intervention for patients with Parkinsons disease and associated movement disorders. The post holder will be expected to carry out comprehensive specialist holistic assessments and use their knowledge and skills to help manage the Parkinsons caseload with clinical support. Training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be required to work independently in providing education and information, advice, and support to patients in their own home and within clinics, as well as remotely via phone calls or video conferencing.
As part of the role you will be expected to liaise and work closely with other health care professionals in ensuring that patient care needs are met accordingly, and that care is delivered to a high standard.
The role will involve partnership working with the Consultant Neurologists and the wider Integrated Neurology team.
