22.5 hours a week.This is a fixed term post to provide cover for absence for specific purpose that we anticipate will be required until 24/08/2026. We reserve the right to end this contract sooner with appropriate notice.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist, within the Herefordshire Perinatal Mental Health Team you will be a highly motivated person, who is looking to develop their skills working alongside a qualified Clinical Psychologist in a wider multidisciplinary team who value psychological intervention. Our Herefordshire Perinatal Mental Health Team supports women presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties in the perinatal period, including their babies and wider family.
Applicants will need to have experience of working within a mental health setting, have good communication skills and an ability to understand and analyse data.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to actively support clinical interventions for patients accessing psychological treatment in the service. The role will support data collection and analysis for service evaluation. There will be other opportunities to work with MDT colleagues such as assessment and supporting activities that provide clinical intervention or teaching other professionals. You will be supervised by a Clinical Psychologist. Applicants will need to have experience of working within a mental health setting, have good communication skills and an ability to understand and analyse data.
Taking part in team discussion and decision-making regarding referrals, assessment and psychological intervention for those seen by the Herefordshire Perinatal Mental Health Service. Assisting in the delivery of evidence based psychological therapies (this may include group and individual therapies) to Perinatal patients. Attendance at weekly MDT meetings, co-facilitate groups and workshops as required, as well as assisting in the development of Perinatal therapeutic materials and presentations and training. Taking an active role in collecting and collating data around patient outcomes and service evaluation.
The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with key partner organisations, patients, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary teams, in supporting an effective service.
