Job summary
Osborne Court is a unique specialist service that provides a Replacement Care to support young adults (over 18 years old) and adults with learning disabilities in Worcestershire. The service supports individuals who require nursing care, are assessed as having complex health needs and supports individuals presenting with behaviours that may challenge.
We are looking for dynamic and motivated Senior Care Assistant to join the team. The post-holder will support other team members in delivering a clinically effective service. The aim is for service users to feel welcome, safe, confident, and keen to stay, thus providing a positive experience for all concerned.
This post is for 37.5 hours per week and include flexible day and night shifts to meet the needs of the service. The shifts patterns are 7-14.00, 14-21.00 or 21.00-07.30 and include bank holidays.
Please note the Trust will not routinely provide sponsorship to work for this role. In addition to meet Home Office salary threshold you must have the significant experience to be offered top of the pay band AND work a minimum of 35.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
This role will include admitting and discharging service users and their belongings. Regular communications with families and other professionals involved in their care such as day centre staff, college staff, GP, and Community Learning Disability Nurses. In the absence of the qualified nurse in the bungalow, you will be responsible for leading the shift, although a qualified nurse will be on site, in another bungalow. You will be required to make beds, do daily tasks such as wash bedding, clothes, shop for food, prepare meals and support service users with meals. You will be required to deliver the highest standards and quality outcomes possible, ensuring that the service user is at the heart of your care and decisions.
This is a hands-on role, and you will be required to support service users with personal care tasks and moving and handling aspects of care alongside medicines management. You will be required to administer medication and carry out specific clinical interventions. We are a supportive, passionate, and motivated team and reflect on the care we provide regularly to improve the care we provide to service users. You will be supported to deliver person centred care which involves regular reviews with families, ensuring the needs of the induvial are at the heart of the care provided. You will be required to complete Medicines Management training and dispense/administer medications to service users under the direction of the Qualified Nurse on shift.
