We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our dynamic CAMHS Crisis and Home Treatment Team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people facing acute mental health challenges delivering timely assessments, intensive home-based support, and working closely with families to prevent hospital admissions.

The service operates 7 days a week 8am-8pm, (shifts are 8-8)

The role is open to registered professional (RMN / Social Worker / Occupational Therapist) with:

Experience in CAMHS, crisis, or acute mental health services

Strong risk assessment and safety planning skills

The ability to work autonomously and within a team

A flexible, compassionate, and resilient approach

Be able to meet the travel requirements of the role

This is a full time role but we would consider part time (to include weekends)

Main duties of the job

Undertake crisis assessments and risk management plans for young people presenting in acute mental health distress

Deliver time-limited, goal-focused interventions in community and home settings

Collaborate with families, schools, social care, and acute services to provide holistic care

Participate in team meetings, case discussions and multi-agency forums

Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development initiatives

Participate in a 7-day service rota including evenings, weekends and bank holidays

Participating in clinical, safeguarding and reflective supervision.

Work alongside clinical leads and operational leads

  • Professional clinical qualification RMN / OT / Social Worker etc.
  • Evidence of post registered clinical qualifications/training or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of training to a minimum of post graduate diploma level
  • Current registration with relevant professional body
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.

Desirable

  • Evidence of on-going continuing professional development
  • Evidence of providing a supervisor role

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to travel to patients at the needs of the service across a wide geographical area in a timely manner

Experience
