Assistant Practitioner - Occupational Therapy

Job summary
The Worcester Neighbourhood Team are excited to advertise for a band 4 occupational therapy assistant to join our integrated team.
This is a part time post working 30 hours per week.
The successful candidate should be either working as an experienced band 3 therapy assistant with the right qualifications or an individual currently working at this level who would like to join a friendly and dynamic therapy team delivering patient care in their own homes.
You will need excellent communication and organisational skills and be passionate about supporting and empowering patients to improve their functional abilities and independence in their own home.
You will be part of an integrated team of therapists, therapy assistants, nurses and healthcare assistants who work across Worcester city.
You will be supported by our senior and band 5 occupational therapists to ensure you have the training, skills and competencies required to undertake and manage your caseload. You will have access to support throughout your day and will have regular supervisions and joint visits to identify any further training needs.
Please note the Trust is unable to provide sponsorship to work for this role, to apply you must have current right to work in the UK status.
Main duties of the job
Your typical day will include the following:
- occupational therapy assessments and interventions for your own designated caseload
- assessing clients in relation to their equipment needs / minor adaptations requirements/completing onward referrals and liaising with relevant health and social care professionals.
- enabling the client in areas of self-maintenance, productivity and leisure
- working with clients to identify occupational therapy goals as part of the overall care plan
- monitoring and evaluating treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of the intervention
- ensuring notes recorded are accurate and timely and adhere to trust policy
- assist in buffer stock checks and equipment ordering
