An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior practitioner to join our CAMHS Learning Disability team in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The successful applicant will deliver assessments and therapeutic interventions across both Worcestershire and Herefordshire, working both in the community and from bases.

No two days will be the same, so flexibility, problem solving skills and a desire to make a difference are all vital for this role.

You will receive regular clinical and line management supervision to the CAMHS LD Team and be offered continuing professional development and training throughout your career. Flexible and hybrid working is also available.

This is full time post, but we would consider applicants looking for part time.

Main duties of the job

You will provide specialist input for young people with intellectual/learning disabilities and mental health needs. This will include assessment of needs and risk, implementation and evaluation of care with the YP, the carer, MDT and other agencies

You will hold a defined caseload and ensure effective liaison and consultation with them, their families and carers, GPs and others services about support, management, possible risks and contingency strategies.

You will liaise with, advise, and support all other professionals/agencies working with the young person and family members to meet the needs of those young people. This will include attending clinical meetings, MDT meetings, high risk complex case meetings, and other meetings as appropriate.

You will ensure that all young people have documented care plans which are reviewed and evaluated on a regular basis

You will mentor allocated RMN/RNLD student practitioners.

You will undertake regular supervision of own case load with the team lead.

  • Specific training in areas such as Solihull Approach, Sensory Processing/integration, Positive Behavioural Support
