Administration Assistant

Job summary

The Worcestershire Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service has recently completed a redesign, and in order to support this exciting development, we require a skilled and well-motivated Administrative Assistant to work alongside our Team Secretary.

This is a full time B2 post - part time considered with a minimum of 30 hours - and the successful applicant will work alongside our experienced Team Secretary. You will be based at Droitwich Medical Centre and will provide administrative support to the clinical team.

We require a creative individual who is self-driven and who also works well within a team.

You will be supported in this post with Trust and Service Induction, as well as with guidance and supervision from our existing Team Secretary.

We are happy to negotiate flexible working hours to fit with individual needs as well as fulfilling the requirements of the Service.

This is full time post, but we would consider applicants looking for part time.

Main duties of the job

A typical day will involve collecting and processing incoming and outgoing mail; responding to emails; answering the phone to patients, carers and colleagues; processing referrals; arranging and adding appointments for the clinical team; ordering and maintaining supplies, and general administrative duties.

You will work independently under the guidance of the Team Secretary and will be based at Droitwich Medical Centre.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats
  • Standard IT skills these will be tested at interview

Qualifications

  • Educated to vocational level 2 in Business Administration OR Good general education with a minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (*A-C) with good IT skills or Considerable recent NHS administrative experience and will be expected to undertake the relevant level 2 vocational qualification on appointment to post
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
