Clinical Workforce Lead

Job summary

Following restructuring in the Nursing and Quality Team the newly formed Clinical Workforce, Training and Education Team has an exciting secondment for an experienced AHP or nursing leader.

The Team focuses on supporting safe, sustainable and effective staffing for Nursing and Allied Health Professions. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of initiatives promoting retention and supporting the clinical workforce, including clinical supervision, career pathways.

We require a highly motivated passionate person who can effectively engage, influence and innovate to deliver on team responsibilities. Direct experience in these areas is not essential but the applicant must have a proven track record of effective and compassionate leadership, quality improvement and an ability to initiate and deliver ideas in a timely and structured manner.

You will be joining a supportive, skilled and passionate team who work together to deliver these responsibilities.

We are open to part time hours as portfolios can be split or prioritised. Applicants must be available on or prior to the 6th October.

This is a fixed term post to provide cover for absence for specific purpose that we anticipate will be required for 6 months. We reserve the right to end this contract sooner with appropriate notice.

Main duties of the job

You will play a pivotal role, responsible for workforce development enabling them to have the skills and knowledge to deliver effective and high-quality care.

Your role requires engagement with other teams, understanding their developmental needs creating and producing plans promoting staff development and retention.

Supported by the team you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders developing opportunities, career plans which optimise retention and talent within the organisation.

The role is creative, innovative and agile and the workplace location reflects offering flexibility to display virtual and physical leadership travelling across the footprint of the organisation to collaborate and develop plans associated with the role.

Communication between the teams is essential and presence in team meetings is essential to ensure collaborative and joined up working across all the workstreams of the team.

There will be a requirement to update senior leaders on proposals and projects either individually or at high level committee meetings, so the ability to accept challenge, evolve plans, react to new information, work autonomously and communicate effectively and confidently will be critical.

Working hours are Monday Friday 0830 1630, flexible options will be considered.

You will be given autonomy to manage their own diary to promote relations and presence across the organisation gathering intelligence and create plans as required.
