Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to employ a trainee Mental Health Practitioner within the Neighbourhood Mental Health Team for 30 hours a week. This role will focus on the delivery of population based mental health care for the community of Wyre Forest. You will be working alongside a team of highly specialist practitioners and have direct relationships with the professionals within the local Primary Care Networks (PCN). If you are seeking a role that will encompass new ways of working that will be the future delivery of community mental health care in England, then this is an opportunity you should not miss. If you are a newly qualified RMN, OT or Social Worker, the Trainee MHP post offers a developmental package allowing you to work towards a Band 6 position in the team with guidance and support from experienced staff members and gives you the opportunity to spend time in other clinical areas to develop your knowledge and understanding of the service. Consideration will be made for flexible working and there may be some opportunities for staff members to work from home where clinically possible.
Main duties of the job
Will work as a key member and resource of the MDT core team.
This post will offer a challenging and exciting opportunity to gain experience of working across the Mental Health Service in Wyre Forest, developing relationships with Primary Care, partner agencies and wider mental health services.
You will have the opportunity to design and deliver evidence-based recovery focused mental health interventions and groups. Knowledge of delivery psychoeducation within a group environment and 1:1 would be an advantage.
You will have experience of working with this user group in community settings. You will have a registered qualification in mental health nursing, occupational therapy or social work.
The ability to work flexibly as the need of the service demands is essential.
Attend weekly MDT meetings, participate in professionals meetings, signpost to adjunct services depending on patient need.
Support and guidance to the carers of patients accessing the services.
Be supported in taking part in the duty system and act appropriately when dealing with patients who are experiencing difficulties in the absence of their allocated worker.
Receive clinical and managerial supervision regularly.
A developmental plan will be available for this post. If you meet these requirements you will be offered a Band 6 post within the team.
