Job summary
We are looking to recruit an Assistant
Psychologist to work on both of the following pathways 1.0 wte, which are
funded as additional services as part of NHS AMH Psychological Services:
1. Harm Reduction
and Rough Sleepers Psychology Pathway, which focuses on engagement and harm
reduction for drug and alcohol users and supports people who are homeless and
rough sleeping (0.4 wte 15 hours)
2) Pathfinder Services, which focuses on working with adult
survivors of sexual assault and abuse with complex trauma related mental health
needs (0.6 wte 22.5 hours).
The post holder would work alongside Clinical/Counselling
Psychologists, together with staff who also work on the above-named
pathways. We welcome applicants for full
or part time work, to assist in providing important services for individuals
using these services and to provide support and guidance to the staff that work
within these services.

Main duties of the job
For
both aspects of this post, the post holder will receive clinical supervision
from the senior psychologist working in each service provision. They will receive line management from a
psychologist from the AMH psychological pathways service provision.
For
both aspects of this post, the post holder will, under the supervision of the
senior psychologist, contribute to providing:
Evidence
based psychological assessment and treatment,
Training,
advice, and guidance to the teams,
Refer to mental health services and
organise accessible appointments, e.g. at times/venues preferred by those
referred,
Attend and support MDT meetings, enabling the
co-ordination of care plans for individuals,
Audit
and service evaluation.
The
post holder will be supported to apply Clinical and Counselling Psychology core
values with respect to their working practice, linked with a diverse service
user group and with a range of complex mental health needs and difficulties.
