This is a full time role.
This is an exciting role within the Older
Adult Mental Health Inpatient Service based on Cantilupe Ward in Hereford. As a
Ward Manager you will work closely with the other Ward/Team Managers within the
OAMH Inpatient pathway.
Your role is to ensure patient care is of the
highest standard, you will act as a role model and use your initiative to
maintain quality and safety and have responsibility for the operational and
clinical management of the ward.
Further elements of the role will include
ensuring key performance indicators are met. You will have oversight of ward
and staffing budgets including recruitment and retention strategies and play an
integral part in patient flow.
You will develop initiatives and strategies to
support ongoing development of the OAMH inpatient pathway and will assist in
supporting and educating staff.

Assessment and Management of risk
Ensuring safer staffing levels are maintained for the wards
Reviewing incidents (Ulysses) and provide appropriate and constructive
feedback to staff.
Participate in clinical and managerial audits
Provide management supervision and complete appraisals
Ability to manage and support staff during difficult situations and
escalate to matron/service manager as appropriate.
