Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Trainee

Job summary

This exciting role has been developed to support patient care and NHS service delivery. It is for this reason that the training and salary are being supported with public funds and we would ask you to apply to only one Trust and one Higher Education Institution (HEI). Successful candidates will be trained to deliver Low Intensity Psychological Interventions, which are the cornerstone of NHS Talking Therapies Services (formally known as IAPT).

If your application is successful, you will be required to attend a university assessment on either 16th July 2025 at Newmans University, you must be available to attend this to continue through the application process. If you are successful, you will be invited to interview with our service set dates 29th,30th or 31st July 2025. Following being successful at all parts we will need you to be able to start within the role 25th August ready for the course start date 1st September. (This is a tight turn around which is out of our control).

Main duties of the job

The programme of learning is delivered By Newman University Birmingham. If successful the post holder will be required to attend a minimum of 1 day teaching, undertake 1 day of self-directed study and provide 3 days of clinical practice per week offering assessment and low intensity treatment to patients presenting with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. The postholder will receive appropriate support throughout their training journey.
