Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality psychiatric assessments, treatment, and interventions within the home treatment team.
  • Work collaboratively with your doctor colleague and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Participate in team discussions, treatment planning, and risk assessments.
  • Engage with patients, carers, and families to provide holistic and person-centred care.
  • Contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement within the team
  • Flexibility in providing cross cover to colleagues
  • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships.
  • Challenge poor practice
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (or eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment);
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • GMC Licence to practice.
  • Approval (or eligible for approval) under Section 12 (2) of the Mental Health Act.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.

Experience

Essential

  • A minimum of 4 years in the registrar or staff grade and/or specialty doctor grade and/or in the clinical and/or senior clinical medical officer grades, at least 3 of which include working within Psychiatry.
  • A minimum of 10 years medical work (either a continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification which is (or would at the time have been) acceptable by the GMC for full, limited or temporary (but not provisional) registration.
