Following the successful completion of the apprenticeship qualification could apply for a band 4 position.

As a healthcare engineer apprentice technician, you will be an integral part of our Estates teams, supporting in the maintenance, repair, and improvement of our healthcare facilities, based at one of our core 3 sites but with travel to all sites we maintain across the two counties no two days will be the same. You will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience and technical knowledge across multiple specialist disciplines e.g.

Decontamination Equipment

Medical Gases

Ventilation

Water

Fire

Electrical systems and many more

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the installation, testing, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within NHS buildings.

Carry out routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of equipment and infrastructure.

Support senior engineers in diagnosing faults, conducting inspections, and implementing solutions.

Collaborate with different departments to identify engineering requirements and provide timely solutions.

Participate in training programs and academic studies to develop your technical skills and knowledge.

The role will have 20 per cent off the job time allocation for training, education, and learning.
