Job summary
This permanent post leads the community services within the older adult mental health in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. This post will require a flexible and committed individual who will be responsible for teams within both counties. They will join a creative and supportive management team who work closely together to develop and improve services.
The service includes inpatient and community teams and carries out assessment and treatment for patients presenting with both mental health needs in the context of frailty and dementia.
Teams are spread across 8 bases and we pride ourselves in working collaboratively across teams to ensure consistent, outstanding care for our patients and their families.

The post is 30 hours per week with a potential to increase to full time.
Main duties of the job
- Operationally manage community teams across various bases including Herefordshire and parts of Worcestershire.
- Ensure that community teams and inpatient areas work closely together for a seamless journey for our patients and their families.
- Provide assurance on the performance of teams including patient safety, incident reporting, workforce management and budgetary management.
- Take part in projects to develop the service including writing business cases and carrying out presentations.
- Be present and supportive to direct reports.
- Work closely with the other managers within the older adult mental health service and the wider service delivery unit.
- Network and build close relationships with statutory and voluntary sector partners as required.
- Deputise for the Service manager as required.
- Take part in the Senior Manager on call rota.
