Job summary
Herefordshire CAMHS have an exciting full time opportunity for an aspiring clinical or counselling psychologist. We welcome applications from candidates with a BPS-accredited psychology degree, who are passionate in developing in this area. You will be working with psychologists and other professionals offering psychological interventions as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will also undertake audits, evaluation, support clinical pathways and service development, including developing increased service user involvement and co-creation. You will be supported to develop skills in direct work with children and young people under the supervision of a psychologist. We are seeking someone who has the personal qualities and enthusiasm for placing patient care at the heart of services, highly motivated to learn about and improve the psychological wellbeing and outcomes for children. Skills in research and/or audit skills and applying these to service improvement are essential.
Main duties of the job
Assist, under the supervision of qualified Clinical Psychologists, the clinical psychology assessment and treatment of children and their families.
Take on a small individual caseload for individual treatment under the supervision of an appropriately graded Clinical Psychologist.
Assist in the establishment and execution of psychology led clinical projects
Assist with the cataloguing and maintenance of test and other equipment.
Assist with the collection and interpretation of clinical and research data.
Assist with the preparation and production of clinical, research and teaching materials.
Assist, where appropriate, in teaching programmes which are arranged with the Clinical Psychologists.
Assist colleagues, where appropriate, with the organisation of the service.
Attend such meetings, as appropriate, for the efficient running of the Service
