This job is now closed
Job summary
The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for a GP with a specialist interest in Post Covid Syndrome (PCS) and ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) to develop the newly established Post-viral Fatigue service and provide clinical outpatient services. You may deliver this virtually, via video consultation, as well as in person across both counties. The post is 5 sessions/week, with job shares considered.
Applications are invited from candidates with clinical experience in managing these and/or similar long term health conditions. You will also have a strong commitment to service evaluation, improvement and development.
For more information, please contact Marina Townend, Service Lead, at marina.townend@nhs.net
Main duties of the job
Although the service is commissioned from 1st April 2025, the individual PCS and ME/CFS services are well-established and already provide holistic person-centred, outpatient-based care, according to national guidelines for these conditions. Following a redesign, the services will come together to maximise resources and provide an integrated, symptom-led service.
The team will consist of specialist occupational therapists, physiotherapist, psychologists, therapy assistant and nursing, with admin support and monthly supervision from an experienced consultant. We receive referrals from GPs in the region and, with the support of the MDT, you will be involved in the assessment and diagnosis of patients, requesting and making recommendations for investigations and treatments as appropriate.
