Job summary

We are currently looking to employ a full time Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager, to support the Ward Manager with clinical and administrative duties at Tenbury Community Hospital. The role will include day, nights and weekend working.

The ward has a team of GPs, ANPs, RNs, HCAs together with supporting staff in Social Services, Facilities and Housekeeping.

Main duties of the job

  • Your main duties will be to be responsible for the day to day management of the ward, in the absence of the Ward Manager.
  • Manage the admissions and discharge of patients.
  • Evaluate and reassess nursing care according to clinical need.
  • Supervise, support and encourage staff development
  • Facilitate audit for the ward.
  • Assist in managing the ward budget.
  • Participate in recruitment for the ward.
  • Maintain your own personal and professional development
  • Ensure Trust policies, procedures and guidelines are adhered to
