Lead Pharmacy Assistant - Development Role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our department for a qualified Pharmacy Assistant to join our team, gain an accuracy checking qualification and progress to our new Band 4 Lead Pharmacy Assistant post.

The role is varied and constantly evolving to meet the needs of the service, which delivers pharmaceutical care to community hospitals, mental health inpatient wards, mental health community teams and specialised clinical services across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

You will work with a diverse range of staff and patients, so must be able to work collaboratively to deliver the highest quality of care, and to encourage the development of others, the service and yourself. Role is 25 37.5h worked between 9 5 across Monday to Friday. Currently there are no weekend duties, bank holiday working or late nights. You may be expected to work some Saturday mornings in the future.

Main duties of the job

Main duties for the post holder include

Dispensing activities including final accuracy checks of pharmacist clinically screened prescriptions ( once qualified).

Supervise/ line manage designated members of staff.

Take a lead with tasks relating to either medicines procurement, pharmacy IT system administration or stock delivery to wards.
