Job summary

This is a development role, and the post holder will be required to undertake a period of training and development to achieve the skills and knowledge to progress to a band 5 Contracts Officer role.

The post holder will provide and coordinate administrative services; including for example, the preparation of contracts, and taking appropriate follow-up action as required. Supporting clinical teams with the management of projects and gathering information. As well has supporting the Contracts Manager in the Trust's business development by ensuring contracts are in place for the provision of clinical services according to national contract rules and guidelines. The team works in conjunction with Trust colleagues in Information, Finance, Performance and Clinical services.

This post has the opportunity of not only working 37.5 hours, but also 30 hours per week with the flexibility of working at home and in the office.

Main duties of the job

  • Be responsible for the production and validation of contract monitoring reports on a monthly basis, investigating and resolving/escalating any data quality concerns and reporting any variance from contracted levels.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of contract and prices Tariffs.
  • Be responsible for making changes/ adjustments to contracts, liaising with the Contracts Manager as necessary.
  • Understand Payment by Results and the National Tariff. Make sure activity is coded and recorded correctly and that activity is accurately reported to ensure maximum income from tariff. Take action/escalate where issues with PbR activity are apparent.
  • Be responsible for the routine and timely production and validation of Non Contracted Activity (NCA) invoices. Ensuring activity levels and values are appropriately invoiced and any resulting queries are resolved to assist timely payment of invoices.
  • Be responsible for the routine and timely production and validation of charging related to the Overseas Visitor Charging Regulations, ensuring appropriately invoiced and any resultant queries are resolved to assist timely payment of invoices
  • Develop and manage a system of active monitoring and tracking of NCA invoices raised, queried and paid, and be able to report on the current status of NCA invoices both on an ad hoc and routine basis.
