for CAMHS clinicians interested in Systemic Family Practice.
This is an exciting opportunity for 3 CAMHS clinicians who are
passionate about working with children, young people and their families to
develop their skills in family therapy.
You would be enrolled in the CYP-IAPT 12 month post-graduate diploma in
Systemic Family Practice beginning in February 2025. Following successful completion of the
diploma, you would be employed in the CAMHS service offering therapeutic work
to children and their families, offering interventions for children presenting
with a range of difficulties.
If you have a core professional qualification, 2 years full-time
therapeutic experience in a mental health setting working clinically with CYPs,
a passion for working with children and families and are able to commit to the
requirements of the course then this may be the opportunity for you.
Due to the demands of the course, successful applicants will
need to take up a full-time position.

Main duties of the job
You will need to attend an interview and be enrolled at the
University of Northampton. The
Post-graduate Diploma is a full-time programme with 36-40 days of
face-to-face/online teaching, 36 days of practice based learning and 6 dates of
assessment. You would need 8 cases for
depression/self-harm/conduct issues students, or 3 cases for eating disorders
students, and a minimum of 48 sessions and 60 clinical hours. The study commitment is 125 hours of
independent study time.
The course requires academic study including writing essays,
case studies and completing a portfolio.
Students who have not complete a first degree may register for the PG
Diploma as an associate student and transfer to full diploma once they have
passed their first level 7 module.
You would work clinically within the CAMHS
partnership/ED team, hold a caseload, attend MDT meetings and attend
training. You would be supervised by a
qualified family therapy from CAMHS and small group supervision at the
University.
