Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 clinical
leadership role in the Child Development and Specialist Play team within
Children, Young People & Families Service Delivery Unit.
This is a
dynamic and innovative team with a highly child centred approach to their
intervention. Working in partnership with families and young people to offer
high quality care. The successful
candidate or candidates will need to have an appropriate qualification in
Physiotherapy/OT/SLT and professional registration.
The Child
Development Service works with babies and pre-school children with significant
development delay or a known medical condition/diagnosis who require a
specialist approach. The Specialist Play
Service provides home-based assessments and intervention for babies, toddlers
and pre-school children with additional needs.
The
successful candidate would need to be prepared to work at all 3 Child
Development Centres covered by the team as appropriate and travel to deliver
care to Worcestershire children within their homes. The work base can be
discussed at interview.
The
successful candidate will have support within the team from team leaders and
clinical leads and from the clinical services manager and senior management
team in the service delivery unit.
There are a total of 35.25 hours
per week (0.94 whole time equivalent) for this role.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will lead
and be responsible for a team of specialist nursery nurses, providing a high
standard of care within the child development centre commissioned service to
children and young people.
They will be responsible for
triaging referrals and supporting the team to deliver a service to meet the
needs of the children and families.
They will be involved in managing
complex issues in the care of patients.
Providing clinical support and
professional leadership for the child development and specialist play services.
The postholder will work as part
of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the children are supported to achieve
their potential.
They will be responsible for the
audit programme for the Child Development Team and help to support and
implement findings of good practice for the service users. Working towards
measuring outcomes and provision across the Balanced System.
