In collaboration with The University of Worcester, we can now offer the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship (Mental Health field only). A total of 15 positions are available across Hereford, Bromsgrove and Worcester Mental Health sites.

This apprenticeship provides the opportunity to earn while you learn, developing both professionally and academically in order to gain a BSc in Mental Health Nursing and register with the NMC as a qualified nurse. The apprenticeship will start in September 2024 and is paid at Band 2.

You may support various service delivery units in your preferred locality giving you exposure and experience across a range of specialities (*please indicate on your application form your preference of location by stating Hereford, Bromsgrove or Worcester).

A combined information & selection event will be held on Friday 24th May at Evesham Community Hospital Waterside, Evesham WR11 1JT 09:30 16:00 for all shortlisted applicants.

Main duties of the job

As a Trainee Nurse (Apprentice), you will complete your Nursing Degree Apprenticeship (RNDA) and qualify after 4 years as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. You will be a paid employee throughout and gain valuable knowledge, skills and behaviours via your experience within the Trust as well as attendance at University. The 4 year Apprenticeship will be fully funded by the Trust.

You will work 37.5hours per week with time spent between University and work base. You will develop knowledge, skills and behaviours allowing you to work in a dynamic and changing healthcare environment and will be required to commit to self-directed study, adhering to the policies and timescales of the apprenticeship training provider. You will be required to complete external practice placements as part of your apprenticeship to meet NMC standards and will be expected to travel to these as necessary.

You will be fully supported throughout by your line manager, University and also the Apprenticeship Team.
