Job summary
Worcestershire Integrated Sexual Health have an exciting opportunity for a B5 nurse to join the team at our Aconbury North site, Worcester. The post is a B5-B6 development post and all training will be provided to develop the successful candidate. The post is 30 hours a week over 4 days. This is to include occasional Saturday mornings and early evenings.
There is an expectation to be flexible and to be able to cover other clinics within Worcestershire as required.
The role will include assessment, screening, diagnosing and treatment of those with sexually transmitted infections, whilst initiating/changing/repeating methods of contraception. This is an exciting time to join the service with many developments and opportunities.
You will continue to develop your clinical and leadership skills to support the management of change, working with the Lead Nurse and wider team to implement an innovative service that reflects local and national initiatives.

Main duties of the job
- Provide evidence based specialist sexual health care for patients attending sexual health clinics. The integrated specialist sexual health service includes genitourinary medicine (GUM), contraceptive and reproductive healthcare (CRHC),
- Responsible for contributing to the development of nursing and professional practice in order to meet the requirements of relevant national strategies and targets and the clinical governance agenda.
- Effective care provision through partnership working, provision of appropriate information, advice and support to patients to empower them to make informed choices about their treatment and care and lifestyle choices.
- Assess, diagnose and treat genital conditions with utilisation of microscopy techniques. Supply medicines under patient group directions.
- Assess contraceptive needs and medical eligibility for contraceptive methods. Supply hormonal methods of contraception under patient group directions
- Support effective partner notification strategies to ensure contact attendance and treatment.
- Work with vulnerable clients and act as an advocate to ensure that sexual health services and other services are accessible and appropriate to their needs
