This is a
exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time 8a Clinical /Counselling
Psychologist to join Early Intervention in Psychosis Services (EIP) in Worcestershire. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled
psychologist who has the knowledge, experience, and leadership skills to
provide a valuable contribution to our team.
The position is an opportunity to
provide leadership for psychological interventions in this client focussed,
dynamic team. Assessment, formulation, and consultation, as well as the
provision of group and individual based therapeutic interventions are central
aspects of this role. You will lead a
small team of psychological therapists and work closely with MDT colleagues to
offer NICE recommended psychological interventions to individuals experiencing,
or at risk of experiencing, a first episode of psychosis.
This
role offers the opportunity to work closely with the teams Clinical Lead and
senior leadership in further developing various pathways within the service in
line with national standards for EI services. The post holder will be
instrumental in supporting local and national audit and service development.
Research undertakings are encouraged and supported, whether individually, in
supporting national research studies or through the close links that the team
hold with local academic courses. The service is county wide so the ability to
meet the travel requirements of the role is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post
holder will be an experienced clinical/counselling psychologist qualified to a
doctorate level.
Be
responsible and accountable for the direct provision of a systematic clinical
psychology service, offering specialist psychotherapies, clinical and research
supervision. Lead in the development and organisation of psychological
interventions within the service, offering training and clinical supervision to
other staff and students who are actively involved in the planning, delivery
and evaluation of psychological interventions.
Provide specialised psychological assessments, including
psychometric assessments as appropriate, treatment and management of patients
with a varying range of severity and complexity of psychological problems and
psychiatric disorders. Undertake risk assessments and risk management of
individuals and provide advice to other professionals on psychological aspects
of risk assessment and management.
Interpret
complex psychological data from a variety of sources and provide specialist
advice and consultancy to patients relatives, carers, other involved
professionals, and support staff who work in health, social care, voluntary and
independent services.

- BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in psychology
- Post graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS)
- Post qualification training in specific, evidence based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and/or physical health difficulties, across the age span
- Evidence of regular further professional training and experience as required by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the BPS
