Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, professionally driven, and enthusiastic Physician Associates (PA) to join our PCN teams in Hounslow. We are ideally looking for an individual who has some experience post qualification as a Physician Associate.

The post holders will develop their role working across both Primary and Community healthcare services under guidance from a named GP Clinical Supervisor and other PCN/trust colleagues.

The PAs will provide expert assistance to the PCN in their locality and the wider multidisciplinary team working which includes GP delegated domiciliary visits as appropriate. In this way, the PAs will demonstrate the benefits associated with utilising this role as part of the emerging workforce across the NHS.

Successful PAs will have the unique opportunity of personal professional development support in both clinical skills and leadership assured from partner organisations.

Main duties of the job

HRCH NHS in partnership with the five Hounslow Primary Care Networks and the Hounslow GP Consortium has exciting opportunities forPhysician Associates to work in our developing integrated teams. Hounslow Primary and Community Care are working through an innovative approach to collaboration to achieve the best possible outcomes.

The Physician Associates will be part of one of these new integrated care teams, working within General Practice. Your role may be varied dependent on the needs of the PCN; supporting general practice or specific clinical pathways within your practices.

You will be critical in facilitating early interventions to support the maximum quality of life; helping General Practice to respond earlier.

You will be an integral part of a wider team of PCN care professionals working under the mentorship of a GP and receiving clinical supervision through the PCN.

  • Post graduate diploma / Masters Physician Associate course from an accredited UK university or if US trained: Current and valid certification with the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Member of the Faculty of Physician Associates, which includes registration on PAMVR (Physician associate managed voluntary register) until such time that statutory regulation is achieved
  • Current and valid certification / recertification by UK PA National Examination
  • Up to date professional portfolio demonstrating evidence of reflective practice
  • Commitment to Continual Professional Development and PA recertification - Maintain CPD requirements of 50 CPD points per year (25 CPD Type 1 and 25 CPD Type 2)
