Job summary

  • Ensuring the delivery of clinically effective services in all service areas
  • Meeting service level targets for delivery of services based on quality, activity and budgetary control, and reporting on performance
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with partners, g. GPs, voluntary sector, acute providers and local authorities, in order to ensure services are working in or with localities, meeting commissioned requirements and delivering streamlined pathways of care for patients
  • Developing care pathways and protocols working collaboratively with partner agencies to facilitate the transfer of clients across service interfaces and the support development of integrated services
  • Ensuring that services meet all governance requirements to meet Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, ensuring services managed achieve 'good' with one service achieving 'outstanding'
  • Contributing to the development of HRCH's long term strategic objectives, annual business service plans, and the overall management of resources and developing service plans and visions based on these strategic plans
  • Taking the lead for a portfolio of cross-directorate/borough responsibilities to be agreed and determined according to the post holder's skills and organisational requirements.

Main duties of the job

  1. To ensure robust service specifications and service plans are in place for each of the services, with clear objectives that are delivered to meet commissioning and organisational requirements
  2. To ensure each service has clear objectives that contribute to the business plan for the division
  3. To be responsible for achievement of service performance targets against each of the service specifications established by the respective Commissioners against each service
  4. To facilitate staff working in partnership with other NHS organisations, local authorities, GPs, voluntary organisation, independent contractors to deliver comprehensive pathways of care for patients
  5. To ensure that quality standards for the delivery of clinical care are achieved and maintained
  6. To ensure that all working practice in the service areas complies with national and local service requirements, quality provisions, and the NHS Codes of Conduct
  7. To ensure the division has a workforce recruitment plan to support the division hiring high quality staff to services
  8. To maintain a culture of continuous service review and improvement with a focus on productive working at all times
