We have an exciting opening for an experienced and motivated candidate to join our Inpatient unit leadership team, the role of inpatient Service Manager is a part time (0.60WTE) fixed term/secondment for 12 months and is part of a job share.
This role is based at the Pamela Bryant Inpatient unit at Teddington Memorial Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The Pamela Bryant Inpatient unit is a 28 bedded facility within Teddington Memorial Hospital (TMH) for patients that require the provision of a suitable environment and need assessment, observation rehabilitation and levels of nursing and therapy care that is over and above that offered by the community nursing and therapy teams.
As part of our team, you will work jointly with the current Inpatient Service Manager to provide leadership to the multi-disciplinary team ensuring the service is well led and improving health outcomes for our patients.
The Inpatient Unit Service Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of the service in the Inpatient Unit and will contribute to the strategic planning of the Unit and ensure effective multidisciplinary working, effective financial management and the efficient use of all resources.
You'll need excellent communication and leadership skills to succeed in this role, as well as a real passion for providing top-quality care to your patients. We welcome candidates with experience of leading, managing and motivating staff preferably in a similar environment.
This is an ideal role for a motivated band 7 or current 8a to take on a new challenge in a highly supportive leadership team.

Essential
- A relevant professional qualification in nursing, or AHP and current registration with the relevant professional body
- Post-graduate leadership qualification or equivalent experience
- Willingness to work towards continued professional and practice development through leadership training/courses
Desirable
- Additional leadership qualification
- Masters level qualification
Experience
Essential
- Substantial post-qualification experience of working in a statutory Health or Social Care setting demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility, preferably in a multi-disciplinary team
- Substantial experience of leading, managing and motivating staff including performance management and staff development to deliver high quality results.
- Experience of achieving positive outcomes for patients and through multi-disciplinary and partnership working.
- Experience of managing successful change programmes, working across service areas to improve and develop service delivery.
- Experience of identifying and managing risk in line with Inter-Agency Safeguarding Adults Procedures

- Experience of managing budgets effectively
