We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated and experienced registered OT who has extensive learning disability experience to work within our Community Learning Disability Adult Service based on the IOW.
- To provide specialist services to adults with a learning disability in partnership with Service Users
- To manage a caseload of clients with a range of needs, using evidence based/person centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
- To plan and organise complex activities and programmes
- To address occupational performance and skill deficits, in areas such as self-maintenance, productivity and leisure.
- To prescribe and provision OT specialist services for those with multiple needs.
- To identify and evidence innovative service development opportunities participating in the delivery of the OT and Learning Disability development plans.
- To provide support to the OTA working within the team

Main duties of the job
This post requires a Clinical Specialist OT in the field of Learning Disabilities to support the inter-disciplinary Community Learning Disability Team in meeting the healthcare needs of people with learning disabilities on the Isle of Wight.
To provide specialist services to adults with a learning disability, through a process of Person-Centred Care, that is comprehensive and responsive to the needs of the individual and their family/carers. Identified needs will be assessed, treatment implemented and evaluated in partnership with Service Users as well as family/carers
