An opportunity has arisen for a person with the right values and skill profile to join the IOW NHS Trust as a Team Leader for the Community Learning Disability Service.
The service is based at The Civic Centre in Sandown, but covers the whole of the IOW. The post holder will advocate for the needs of people with a learning disability within the division, Trust and the wider health and social care economy. The post holder will help build and sustain strong links with other health and social care colleagues to drive forward the IOW's 'living well with a learning disability strategy' and helping to support equal access to services for people with learning disabilities.
The team is entering into an exciting time as the Trust, CCG and Local Authority consider plans to develop an integrated service for adults with Learning Disability, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.

The successful post holder will be from a professional health or social care background, with experience in leading teams. They will have a clear knowledge of the current health and social care imperatives in providing and improving services to people with a learning disability. They will be able to demonstrate confidence and clear capability in managing teams and a change agenda.
- Be responsible for ensuring the provision of safe services for all people using Community Learning Disability Services (CLDS).
- Work flexibly within the CLDS to ensure the safe delivery of services.
- Ensure the service complies with both local and national best practice and Care Programme Approach (CPA) guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with Trust Policies and the Mental Health and Learning Disability Divisions clinical governance, performance monitoring and quality assurance frameworks.
- Develop, co-ordinate and implement a process for managerial supervision, clinical supervision, case load management and staff annual appraisal.
