We are recruiting for a Cancer Patient Pathway Navigator who wishes to join our Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists Team at #TeamIOWNHS. The opportunity has arisen to recruit a full time Cancer Patient Pathway Navigator for a fixed term of 24 months.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Cancer Care Navigator to provide administration support to the Cancer Teams, Chemotherapy unit and Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist Team. This includes supporting the delivery of clinical and administrative tasks related to bookings of outpatient appointments, recording of cancer nurse specialist activity, monitoring telephones and assisting with development of Risk Stratified Pathways, Health Promotion and follow-up services on the Isle of Wight.
Main duties of the job
This role will work closely with key areas of the Trust, forging close working relationships with the visiting consultants from the Cancer Centres, the medical and cancer teams.
It is essential that you possess a high level of up-to-date relevant knowledge, secretarial and administration skills, and practical experience in dealing with patients who have cancer, oncology or specialist palliative care needs.
Working with the cancer nursing team, this post will assist with the implementation and assessment of the service against the NHSi Quality Measures, the development of services, and the supporting of patients undergoing systemic anti-cancer treatment. The administrator will co-ordinate the bookings of clinic appointments, prescription organisation, further treatment scheduling and communicate with the whole cancer workforce on the island and with our partnerships on the mainland.
