Apprenticeship (Respiratory/Sleep Physiology)

We are recruiting for an Apprentice Respiratory Associate Practitioner who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards "great people, great place".

We have two laboratories offering a wide range of investigations including spirometry, gas transfer, body plethysmography, arterial blood gases, polysomnography, CPAP and non-invasive ventilation treatment. The Pulmonary Function/Sleep Team also works closely with the Respiratory Consultant, Specialist Nurses and Rehabilitation Team offering a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

The two-year Level 4 Apprenticeship (Respiratory/Sleep Physiology) involves on-the-job training (ARTP spirometry practitioner course leading to certification and registration in spirometry and ARTP Associate Level II) and completion of a Healthcare Science Respiratory and Sleep Diploma.

Annex 21 will be applied to salary for the duration of the training programme which is expected to take 2 years (please see attached guidance)

Main duties of the job

Career opportunities following qualification include continued training ARTP Practitioner Level III, and for the right candidate the opportunity to continue their training to BSc (Hons) Healthcare Science gaining a full qualification as a Respiratory/Sleep Physiologist.
