Interim Chief Operating Officer

Band 9 + 10% R&R

Following the recent appointments to the Group Executive the Isle of Wight NHS Trust is now looking for an interim Chief Operating Officer for six months.

Initially expressions of interest are being sought form internal candidates who have the relevant operational experience, drive and commitment to deliver our comprehensive and challenging agenda.

The interim Chief Operating Officer will report directly to the Chief Officer and will provide senior professional, strategic and operational leadership for Acute Services. Your primary focus will be providing strong and effective leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.

You will be part of the Trust Leadership Team and will need to work closely with colleagues to deliver the Trust's agenda.

You will provide support to clinical, medical, and operational managers to affect the safe, efficient delivery of care. You will be key to driving our partnership with Portsmouth and maximising this unique opportunity.

Main duties of the job

We very much work as part of a system now and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to work at this level.

As a proven and credible Operational Director with substantial experience in a similar role or setting you will have significant experience of collaboration and system working. You will have a demonstrable track record of achievement, performance management improvement and delivery at a senior managerial level. In return you will be joining a committed, supportive, and close working leadership team, who set high standards for our patients.
