The 8a Operations Manager is a rewarding role working amongst a dedicated and passionate team who endeavor to improve on all aspects of urgent and emergency care and related local and national standards.

The successful applicant will bring a wealth of experience from an NHS operational function combined with a passion to successfully deliver the day-to-day management of urgent and emergency pressures across the emergency floor.

They will understand local and wider challenges and strive to mitigate and provide assurance, resolution, and escalation when additional support is required.

The postholder will support the senior operations team in the day-to-day oversight of the emergency floor and utilise excellent communications skills and a collaborative work ethic to engage clinical, nursing, operational and managerial colleagues in the planning and delivery of daily UEC operations and will become a visible and pivotal member of the operational team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the utilisation of the administration and clerical staff and provides day-to-day operational support to clinical staff/teams to deliver local and national standards.

  • Demonstrate evidence of influencing and persuasion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a strong team and independently as required.
