Job summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic clinical psychologist/ counselling psychologist/ psychotherapist/CBT psychotherapist to join us in the South Community Mental Health Team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain significant experience of clinical leadership in a changing healthcare system, working as part of an experienced, supportive multidisciplinary team. You will provide senior leadership and line management to a range of psychological professionals including peer recovery workers. You will also offer a psychological service to service users and their families alongside indirect clinical and consultation work to the team and other services. There will also be involvement in supporting evidence-based therapeutic treatments such as structured clinical management. You will need to have had significant experience of work with adults with complex presentations, including psychosis, bipolar disorder, personality difficulties and complex trauma.
You will possess an enthusiasm for working productively with multidisciplinary teams and supporting teams through change. The post involves carrying out highly complex psychological assessments and interventions, and leading and advising on clinical pathways for people with complex needs. The post also involves direct clinical work with service users and their families/carers providing psychological interventions for people who require highly specialised psychological care and attention.
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical leadership within the South Community Mental Health Team and to work in collaboration with the leadership team to deliver effective services. Your role will be to help to develop psychological care pathways within the evolving secondary and primary care mental health transformation process. To lead on the use of best evidence and co-production to create effective, well received, trauma informed pathways of care. Your role will also be to provide specialist assessment and interventions at the same time as offering highly specialised advice, formulation and consultation on service users' psychological care to psychological professional colleagues, non-psychological professional colleagues, carers and others. To provide clinical supervision for psychologists, psychotherapists / other professionals within the team and be responsible with the Service Manager for the co-ordination, governance and performance management of the work of other psychologists/psychotherapists/peer recovery workers. To take sole professional responsibility and exercise autonomous professional and clinical judgement within the overall framework of Trust, HCPC, BABCP, UKCP and BPS professional policies/guidelines/standards. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.

- oPost-graduate, doctoral level training in clinical psychology
- Registration with the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist
- Formal training in supervision of other psychologists
- Post-graduate Diploma qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or additional therapeutic training
- Full accreditation with BABCP for CBT or equivalent body dependant upon therapeutic modality
- Formal training in supervision
Desirable
- Leadership or management training relevant to health and social care settings
- Additional training in an evidence based therapeutic modality.
