Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a Nursing Associate to interventions to service users of the Adult Eating Disorder Service as part of a multi-disciplinary team SEDS (Sheffield Eating Disorders Service). As part of service developments to enhance regional provision; the roles will involve working with the SEDS team for our service users in their respective geographical areas. SEDS is a regional service covering South Yorkshire (Sheffield hub and regional spokes within Barnsley, Rotherham & Doncaster). You will be working with patients attending clinics, in community and inpatient settings and in their own homes.
The characteristics of the core population receiving direct services are people with complex psychological and emotional needs who may have experienced adverse life events. Your work will primarily involve assessing and delivering interventions to people presenting with moderate to severe Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa.
This an exciting opportunity for passionate colleagues to join the specialist team at a time of expansion across South Yorkshire to reduce disparity and ensure equitable access to the Eating Disorders pathway.The post holder will work as part of the Sheffield Eating Disorders Service Multi-Disciplinary Team to implement and plan care to service users in their respective geographical areas.
Main duties of the job
The Sheffield Eating Disorders Service covers South Yorkshire (Sheffield hub and regional spokes within Barnsley, Rotherham & Doncaster). The professional will be expected to attend planned clinics across South Yorkshire to deliver care close to patient's home. In addition to planned clinics there may be occasions when colleagues are expected to meet with patient in other settings i.e. inpatient setting to support person-centred care planning. To work in partnership with service users and other agencies to ensure effective liaison and communication.
As a NMC registered practitioner, the Nursing Associate will work in a clinical field, with minimal supervision from and report to a Registered Nurse. They will deliver safe, compassionate, and dignified person-centred health care. The Nursing Associate will be expected to plan and prioritise their workload; implement evidence-based care; utilise relevant guidance, protocols, and policies (local and national); contribute to care planning and the service users review. They will be responsible for completing any work-based training associated with the role.
