Job summary
You will be expected to be an enthusiastic and passionate clinician joining the Primary Care Mental Health Team in Sheffield, delivering interventions to people living with severe mental illness and complex mental health needs.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage a defined and varied caseload of community based clients with severe mental illness or complex mental health needs, using specialist OccupationalTherapy skills and evidence based /client centered principles to assess,plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
As well as working directly with clients you will support stakeholder approaches to client care and interventions.
The successful candidate will be expected to integrate into the PCMH MDT, the PCN and the relevant VCSEs.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Occupational Therapist with a commitment to advocating for the Primary Care Mental Health Team. Who will work as part of a team who value innovation, motivation and compassion.
To supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placement.
To hold and manage an client caseload independently
To provide leadership for junior staff, as delegated by supervisor
To participate in the development and evaluation of Occupational Therapyunder the supervision of a Senior Occupational Therapist.
To participate in multi-disciplinary assessments and interventions.
To contribute to the development and maintenance of highprofessional standards of practice, through active participation ininternal and external CPD training and development programs
To participate in multidisciplinary pathways.

- To select and apply Occupational Therapy Assessments for a caseload addressing occupational performance, skill deficits. Enabling the client in areas of self maintenance, productivity, leisure and engagement.
- To plan and implement client centered individual and/or group interventions, using clinical reasoning and a wide range of treatment interventions to achieve therapeutic goals.
- To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment for clients with multiple needs in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention.

- To apply a high level of understanding of the effect of disability and provide training and advice on lifestyle changes and adaptations to the clients social and physical environment where applicable
- To provide effective leadership, performance management, supervision and appraisal for junior staff.
- To provide specialist advice to OT colleagues in other clinical areas.
- To provide specialist advice and training to carers, clients and otherprofessionals.
- To be responsible for the supervision and written assessment ofOccupational Therapy students on practice placement within the Trust.

- To maintain a high level of knowledge of resources, service and national issues relating to people who have a learning disability.
