Job summary
The successful applicant will join a well established and skilled occupational therapy team within the specialist community learning disability service in Sheffield.
The occupational therapy team works alongside other supportive and friendly professional teams including community nursing, physiotherapy, psychology, speech and language therapists, music and art therapists and psychiatry to deliver a service to the adult learning disability population of Sheffield.
You will be working under the supervision of an occupational therapist to deliver individual and group interventions with the aim of developing service users skills in the activities of daily living and to develop engagement in meaningful activities. You will also hold administration duties for the occupational therapy team and in the preparation of resources linked to occupational therapy intervention.

Main duties of the job
Under the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist the post holder will deliver an effective, high quality Occupational Therapy service.oThey will use professional and creative skills to assist in the provision of client centred therapeutic interventions for individuals/groups of clients who have Learning Disabilities.oUnder supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist, facilitate and participate in planned group-work and individual activities, ongoing continuous assessment and adjustment of own clinical interventions based on the fluctuating needs of the service usersoThe post holder will give support to adults with learning disabilities who have difficulties with Activities of Daily Living, Occupation and basic Sensory needs, working as a member of the multi-disciplinary Specialist Community Learning Disabilities Service.
oThe post holder will support qualified Occupational therapists to carry out their professional role in a timely and effective manner including the production of some resources and specified administration tasks.oThe post holder will ensure the recording of service users' information regarding screening/ waiting lists and allocation is accurate and up to dateoTo support qualified clinicians in the planning and implementation of training where appropriate
