Job summary

The post holder will be expected to provide admin support to nominated individuals, provide reception cover 11:00 to 19:00 and support the running of cashiers. It is essential that the post holder is able to exercise initiative suitable to the role and is fully supportive to other colleagues in the administrative team.

Main duties of the job

Good interpersonal and communication skills are required in addition to a wide range of secretarial skills including audio word processing.

The post holder must be organised and able to prioritise their work effectively, together with the ability to work with minimum supervision.

The ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality in relation to both patients and staff.

The post holder must be able to work accurately with figures.

The post holder will be handling cash during undertaking the Cashiering function.

Job responsibilities

The provision of an effective admin service to clinical staff and wider multi-disciplinary team including typing of letters, reports, email, and completion of appropriate forms in Rio.

Deal with incoming correspondence, checking information received and responding where appropriate.

Maintain an electronic diary and personal appointment system for the clinicians as required

Organise meetings, booking rooms/venues, arranging hospitality etc.

Support meetings chaired or attended by clinicians and to be sensitive to the issues under discussion, preparing notes/agendas and taking minutes as requested. Meetings may involve internal and external participants.

  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a relevant area

  • Knowledge of E-Rostering

  • oProven experience in managing spreadsheets and updating and inputting data.

  • oSimilar type of work preferably previous NHS within Mental Health
